Our priority is to guarantee autonomy and self-sufficiency for African communities
Trame Africane was founded in July 2001 by a group of friends with shared volunteering experience in the third sector.
Trame Africane has been a Ente Filantropico ( lo lascerei in Italiano) since the 12th of March 2024 (RUNTS n. 244).
Created with a vision to be supported exclusively by volunteers and with the shared dream to offer African people living in extreme poverty a real opportunity to become masters of their own destiny.

What do we do
Our Projects
Trame Africane operates in two main geographical areas: in the Democratic Republic of Congo where the MBULUNGU PROJECT was established and in Kenya, with our main project: the MACHAKA PROJECT, also entailing the Kiirua hospital project.
MACHAKA PROJECT
The project started and developed to support the village of Machaka, from which it takes its original name. The project has then expanded to support the nearby villages of Kiirua and Maigene.
MBULUNGU PROJECT
In 2006, a project was started in Mbulungu in collaboration with the Diocese of Luebo. This project entails the construction of a department of General Medicine.
KIIRUA HOSPITAL
Thanks to the support of our many friends, we are making our biggest dream a reality: we have been rebuilding and are now expanding the St. Theresa Mission Hospital in Kiirua.
